She was a little girl running in the corn fields of her grandparent’s Midwestern farm.
She became a young woman in a small New England town.
And then the cities called. Boston and Chicago. Minneapolis and Seattle.
She knows she’s a bit of both. Her grounding and her soaring.
He nurtures and He challenges.
Life surprises. These last three years a small town. Not too far from the city.
Bridges connecting. Taste of both. And she’s known.
Yesterday we spent the day in Pittsburgh. About an hour from our home. Alive in the urban busyness. I feel energized and intrigued. Cultures colliding. My world expanding. I see my children enjoying and tasting…and I know that they are growing. Colors and sounds and smells. New experiences and differences open their eyes to beauty.
In addition to the bricks with hearts and the golden bridge, here is some of the beauty we found- all on ONE street:
Now of course, with a beauty of its own, the small town is calling “where is my post?”
I love all of your writing, but this one is one of my faves as I love the big city, its culture, people, sights and sounds. Thank you!
Cities can be beautiful–but I confess to getting twitchy if I’m in one for too long ;). I’m a small town gal. Ok, maybe not as small as the town in live in now–Bozeman, MT was about perfect (Costco but still a unique and vibrant main street and not too many people. )
Love this! I’ve been both a city girl (Dallas, New York…) and a country girl, and I have to say that I love them both <3 Your photos make me wish for the city, though 🙂
Love this! Great pictures of life!
When I was younger I could not wait to move to a bigger city. Now the older I get the more appealing small, rural areas sound lol.
Oh I LOVE those pictures! I’m a fair blend…we live in the country, yet travel to the city! I love being a part of both. Great post!
Love your pictures. I’m a country gal with a big city heart!!!
Thank you for the sights, the colors, the beautiful words…painting a picture.
Bless you with GREAT JOY on your journey!
Melanie, I love the rich beauty you both showcase in your photos, here, and with your words. Where we find ourselves living, there is always beauty to be found. So good!
I love to see what you see behind the camera lens….
