“I trust in nature for the stable laws of beauty and utility. Spring shall plant and autumn garner to the end of time.”
Robert Browning
The rhythm of the seasons.
One of the most beautiful rhythms I know.
Planting. Growing. Harvesting. Resting.
Sometimes I want to rush,
“no more winter” my plea.
But deep in me, I know.
We need each one.
Purpose and beauty, of each.
And now here we are in Autumn.
Gathering. Collecting.
A storehouse for the weather coming.
Preparing amidst the golden colors.
I want to linger here.
Among the pumpkins and leaves.
Gathering all our work,
Enjoying it in a last hurrah
before the winter comes.
In my life
In my faith
In these seasons
I’ve seen the reason for them call.
His grace and provision
His dying and redemption.
His love
Coloring it all.

Good to connect with you again!
What a beautiful poem! I do enjoy the seasons. I have a hard time with how long winter is up here in New England but I am fully enjoy the fall season! 🙂
Hi Rebekah
I don’t think of myself as a poet, I was reflecting on the quote….and then once I re-read, I thought it does sound like a poem!
I grew up in Western Mass…..I remember those long winters!
May the fall last a bit longer!
Thanks for a great poem!
Thank you Amanda! Enjoy your day (or I suppose it is night for you!)
Beautiful! I love every season the most (when it starts) ;). I love Fall because she puts on amazing colors that look horrible on me, but great on flowers and trees.
Ha! That is true for me as well, the colors that look amazing on trees.
Thanks for enjoying fall with me.
I enjoy your words and your thoughts on seasons! Plus, I’m an extroverted introvert, too…possibly one of the best paradoxes 🙂

Hello fellow extroverted introvert!
I think it’s a good combination/paradox.
Thank you for stopping by……and I can’t wait to go see your 31 days series. We have an Aldi’s where we currently live- and I would love some tips on recipes!

Chrissy
I am so grateful you enjoy coming over. May you continue to have restful, peaceful spaces in your days. xxx
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!! Reminds me of my family who farm.
Tara
My grandparents were farmers…and I often think of them in terms of harvesting and seasons and rhythms.
Thank you!
That’s beautiful! I actually have a Robert Browning quote tattooed on my arm.
You do? What is it?
Thanks Melissa!
Great thoughts expressed beautifully!
Thank you sweet friend!
