“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread,
places to play in and pray in,
where nature may heal
and give strength to body and soul alike.”
John Muir
We drive the long way home.
The little one in the back knows,
I’ve been looking for places of beauty.
“Look, beauty!”
A place of
nourishment
play
and prayer.
An old shed tells us it has seen much.
Faithful there
Through the generations.
It comes in unexpected ways
a quick slice in our day.
Connecting to this world around us.
Letting more beauty into our days.
So that our play and prayer
reflect more of His
Beauty.
Where do you go to play and pray?
The places of healing and strength?

Love this post, Melanie! I love that your little one is joining you in finding beauty. May her mind stay trained to look for & see the beauty her whole life through! It is a wonderful quote which you shared & one for my journal for sure. I am so grateful our paths crossed 🙂 Have a blessed weekend!
Hi Joanne
Yes, it is so fun to see her enjoying the search….and yes, may her mind stay trained- I like that phrase.
Have a good weekend, I too am glad to have connected!
Melanie, I am loving this series on Beauty, by you. I don’t always comment, but I’m always reading along. I love that your little one was able to point out beauty as you drove along. We love to run and romp in an apple orchard. They are spectacularly beautiful appear in New England in the fall. Hope you have an amazing weekend, filled with beauty!
Hi Missy
Thank you so much….I’m glad you are enjoying it. I always have a moment after picking a topic, wondering what was I thinking.
Do you know I grew up in Mass, but haven’t lived there in about 20 years. There is nothing like fall in New England. Enjoy your weekend as well!
Wow! an amazing and inspiring post! I’ve Pinned it on my board to read it again 🙂
Thank you Amanda….and thank you for linking to the post!
