She is patient when her daughter has to consider all options before making a decision.
She is patient with a household that is ten times noisier and multitudes more disorganized than her own.
She teaches me the value of calmness and waiting and letting go of that which I can not control.
She serves. Over and over again. Helping days run smoothly in ways I can’t comprehend, nor master.
She shows me that patience leads to hope. And that hope will not disappoint.
Advent. We are so close. And patience seems harder. We wait. More. We establish our hearts, not in hurry, but in anticipation.
May the virtue of patience wash over you today. In checking off the last things. In figuring out how kids will be in three places at the same time. In standing in long lines. Waiting and hoping with you all.
