“Blessed are those whose strength is in you.
Who have set their hearts on pilgrimage”
Psalm 84:5
What does it mean to set our hearts on pilgrimage?
It must mean something different from setting our bodies on pilgrimage. For we could live on the same cul-de-sac our entire life and be on a pilgrimage in our hearts.
And we could throw a backpack over our shoulder and explore the world, but never allow our hearts to move.
What does it mean to set your heart on pilgrimage?
Praying for each of you this weekend. With the knowledge that his strength is in us, may we together permit our hearts to journey into new territory with God.

Dear Melanie
Sam has grown so much since I have last seen a photo of Him. I agree with you 100% with the pilgrimage of the heart. Fm/ME taught me to stop trying to earn God’s love, and to allow my heart to go on this pilgrimage! What a great journey.
Love to you XX
Mia
Mia, he has grown so much, I want it to slow down!
I am grateful for the ways you have shared your journey with Fm/ME and all that it has taught you.
Love
Melanie
On pilgrimage with Christ is the only way, isn’t it? Blessings, Patricia
So true. When I look back at the times of surrender, they have led to beauty. (even in the valleys)
Happy Weekend!
Melanie
Nice picture!
It is indeed!
Of a beautiful young woman, inside and out!
(I love the photos from Botany Bay.)
Happy weekend to all of you!
Melanie
Like the road to Emmaus when eyes were opened and truth revealed – I want my life to be a pilgrimage like that! Your photo beautifully sets up your scripture – I love that she is pulling someone along with her:)
I hadn’t thought of that- yes like the road to Emmaus. I too want my life to be like that.
Thanks for your encouragement.
PS The picture is my son with his oldest cousin- I think he would follow them all anywhere 🙂
another pilgrim here, aiming to keep my steps on a pathway to His heart
love the picture
Hi Melanie! I really liked your contrast between the physical and the spiritual. That really hit home with me. Thank you for your prayers, so beautiful. And the photo is a feast for the eyes.
So glad I came to visit!

He hasn’t promised the journey will be easy but He has promised to be my strength and for that I am thankful. (And there’s not anything more precious than a carefree little boy.)
When life changes, which isn’t unusual, trusting HIM as the Leader, the Instructor. That’s all I can count on for the rest of my life. Challenges are challenges, physically and spiritually. Trust HIM. Nothing else counts.
