The Tapestry of Legacy

She sits at the kitchen table peeling potatoes. From my little girl eyes, it looks like there are at least 500 of them.  In the white farm house with green trim, her presence fills the rooms. She’s steadfast and hard working. The memory grounds me- a thread of love handed down.

I fast forward through the years. I’ve just met the man I will marry. She rests in her recliner. Magnifying glass in hand. Her worn bible opened on her lap. She is faithful and dedicated. Her eighty something years displayed on her face. Years of raising 13 children. Farming. Cooking- ahh her cooking. Three huge meals a day. Though her body has begun to fail, her mind and her spirit are alive. Strong. Persistent. Some might say…. To continue reading click HERE

 

I’m honored to be guest posting over at Becky’s place, Daye by Daye. When she invited me to write with her on the topic of Legacy, I was excited deep in my soul. My hope is to be intentional with my life, my words in this space, that the legacy I leave weaves into the work God is doing.
